Calls for Participation 2026
We are seeking proposals for both art installations at the exhibition, and for talks and workshops at the Symposium. Please see both detailed calls for participation and links to apply below.
We welcome interdisciplinary practitioners, educators, community organizers, and advocates at the intersections of art, technology, design, science (and more) to share their work, specialized knowledge and skills, or thought leadership with their peers attending the event.
The deadline for submissions is end of day Tuesday, September 8th. Notifications will be sent out by Tuesday, September 15th, 2026.
Note the Symposium registration fee of $40 will be waived for any person contributing a talk or a workshop to the event.
Call for Participation -> Arts and Tech Showcase Exhibition
We are excited for 2026 to again host our Arts and Tech Exhibition at the Cornish 9th Ave Gallery, a premier tech-forward art exhibition, to be enjoyed not by symposium attendees Oct 24, but also free and open to the public for a full week after the Symposium October 25 through October 31.
Participants are invited to submit interdisciplinary, art-, tech- and design-driven projects which can draw from a wide range of creative technologies and practices, including creative code, interactive installation, data visualization, light-based projection, sound art, light art, wearables, performance-based and kinetic works, physical computing, generative systems, vibe coding, mixed reality, Internet of Things, ethical AI tools, digital toolbuilding, and other emerging hybrid practices. Individuals of all backgrounds are welcome!
Exhibitors must be mostly self sufficient, as this is a non-profit, community organized exhibition with limited resources. Projects that provide their own equipment and installation are preferred. Minimal hardware and install support may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Projects integrating sound or performance will need to consider isolation of sound, either by setting run time(s) or limiting audio volume/direction.
The space will be available for install during set times in the days prior to the Symposium (October 21-23). Take down date will be Sunday, November 1st. See the floor plan for the 2025 Symposium at the 9th Ave Gallery here to get an idea of available space. Final artwork placements will be determined after selections are announced.
Artist teams are welcome, and team members are encouraged to apply individually as well. Multiple submissions may be considered from one team/artist, but diversity in representation is a priority.
